Matthias Arends

Matthias Arends (born August 7, 1970 in Emden ) is a German politician ( SPD ). He has been a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament since 2017 .

Life

After graduating from secondary school in 1987, he trained as a radio and television technician. From 1993 to 2009 he was a regular in the Air Force. He was then initially self-employed and from 2011 until his election to the state parliament in 2017 as a master electrical engineer at Emder Werft und Dock GmbH.

Party and politics

Arends belongs to the council of the city of Emden as deputy chairman of his parliamentary group. In the state elections in Lower Saxony in 2017 , he received a direct mandate in the state electoral district of Emden / Norden .
