Muron is about 14 kilometers northeast of Rochefort and about 28 kilometers east-southeast of La Rochelle . Muron is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Landrais in the north, Saint-Pierre-la-Noue in the northeast, Genouillé in the east, Tonnay-Charente in the south, Loiré-les-Marais in the west and southwest, Ciré-d'Aunis in the west and Ardillières in the West and northwest.
