The inhabitants are called Pierritains or Pierramilliens .

Saint-Pierre-d'Amilly is located about 35 kilometers east of La Rochelle in the historic Aunis region . Saint-Pierre-d'Amilly is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Cramchaban in the north and north-west, Mauzé-sur-le-Mignon in the north and east, Saint-Saturnin-du-Bois in the south and south-east, and Saint-Georges-du-Bois in the South and southwest and Benon to the west and northwest.
