Le Grand-Village-Plage is a southwestern French community with 1,051 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Rochefort and the canton Île d'Oléron (until 2015: canton Le Château-d'Oléron ). The inhabitants are called Grand-Villageois .
geography
Le Grand-Village-Plage is located on the southwestern edge of the Île d'Oléron . Le Grand-Village-Plage is surrounded by the neighboring communities Dolus-d'Oléron in the north, Le Château-d'Oléron in the east and Saint-Trojan-les-Bains in the south.

In 1949, Le Grand-Village-Plage was separated from Saint-Trojan-les-Bains.
