Ciré-d'Aunis is a French commune with 1,361 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Rochefort and is part of the canton of Surgères . The inhabitants are called Ciréens .
geography
Ciré-d'Aunis is located about 25 kilometers east of La Rochelle in the historic Aunis region . Ciré-d'Aunis is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Thou in the north, Landrais in the east and northeast, Ardillières in the east, Muron in the east and southeast, Loire-les-Marais and Breuil-Magné in the south and Ballon in the west.
