La Gripperie-Saint-Symphorien is a French municipality with 593 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . La Gripperie-Saint-Symphorien belongs to the Arrondissement of Rochefort and the Canton of Marennes (until 2015: Canton Saint-Agnant ). The inhabitants are called Griphoriens .

La Gripperie-Saint-Symphorien is about 14 kilometers south of Rochefort city center . La Gripperie-Saint-Symphorien is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Jean-d'Angle in the north, Champagne in the east and north-east, Sainte-Gemme in the south-east, Saint-Sornin in the south and south-west and Saint-Just-Luzac in the west.
