The Canton Marennes is a French canton in the department of Charente-Maritime and in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It comprises 13 municipalities in the Rochefort arrondissement . As part of the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons, it was significantly expanded in spring 2015.

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the canton of Marennes comprised seven municipalities: Bourcefranc-le-Chapus , Le Gua , Hiers-Brouage , Marennes , Nieulle-sur-Seudre , Saint-Just-Luzac and Saint-Sornin . Its layout corresponded to an area of 181.91 km 2 . It also had a different INSEE code before 2015 than it does today, namely 1714.
