Paul Mommertz

Paul Mommertz (born February 5, 1930 in Aachen ) is a German writer . He became known as the author of scripts, stage plays, radio plays, through articles in newspapers, magazines, at conferences and through ghostwriting .

Life

Paul Mommertz is the son of a master confectioner . His father died in a bomb attack on Aachen during World War II . Mommertz studied German, history and art history in Bonn , Würzburg and Vienna . He wrote a dissertation on the role of aphorism in literature and philosophy .

Mommertz is a journalist and was among other things editor of the satirical magazine Simplicissimus, which appeared again in the 1960s, as well as contract author for Bavaria-Film and has lived as a freelance writer in Munich since then . He is married and has a son and a daughter.

Volumes of aphorisms

Subject

Based on the experiences of young people during the time of National Socialism and the shock of the complete exposure of the Nazi crimes, the dramatic texts focus on problems of adaptation and resistance. The volume of aphorisms, “ Sichtwechsel” , deals with private, social and political life. From his lifelong engagement with religion and the (especially Catholic) Church, the aphorisms under the title Sinnthesen resulted .
