The District of La Rochelle-8 was until 2015 a French canton in the district of La Rochelle , in the Charente-Maritime and in the former region of Poitou-Charentes ; its main town was La Rochelle . The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in its dissolution in March 2015. Michel Rogeon ( PRG ) was the last representative in the General Council of the Département for the years 1985–2015 .
