The Canton Saintes is a French canton in the Arrondissement Saintes , in the department of Charente-Maritime and in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . Geographically, it corresponds exactly to the small town of Saintes , which is its only member parish. When the French cantons were reorganized across the country in 2015, it was re-created; previously, Saintes was split into three cantons, Saintes-Est , Saintes-Nord and Saintes-Ouest , each of which included other municipalities from the surrounding area.
