The Canton of Saintes-Ouest was 2015 a French canton in the department of Charente-Maritime and in the former region Poitou-Charentes . Its main town ( chef-lieu ) was Saintes in the Arrondissement of Saintes . The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in its dissolution in March 2015. Isabelle Pichard-Chauche ( PS ) was the last representative in the conseil général des Départements for the years 1998–2015 .
