The District of Saint-Savinien was 2015 a French constituency in the Charente-Maritime and in the former region Poitou-Charentes . It included eleven parishes in the arrondissement of Saint-Jean-d'Angély ; its capital (French: chef-lieu ) was Saint-Savinien . The nationwide changes in the composition of the cantons resulted in its dissolution in March 2015. The last representative in the General Council of the Département was Jean-Claude Godineau ( UDI ) for the years 2008–2015 .

The canton of Saint-Savinien was 16,625 hectares (166.25 km 2 ) and last had 7511 inhabitants, which corresponded to a population density of around 45 inhabitants per km 2 (as of 2012). It was on average at 17  m , between m in Bords and 102  m in Fenioux .
