Grandjean is a French commune of 300 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Jean-d'Angély and the canton of Saint-Jean-d'Angély (until 2015: canton of Saint-Savinien ). The inhabitants are called Grandjeannais .

geography

Grandjean is located about 55 kilometers southeast of La Rochelle on the Bramerit River and its tributaries Fontvieille and Sauvaget . Grandjean is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Taillant in the north and northwest, Fenioux in the north, Mazeray in the northeast, Saint-Hilaire-de-Villefranche in the east and southeast, La Frédière in the south, Taillebourg in the southwest and Saint-Savinien in the west.
