Prignac is a French municipality with 297 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement Saint-Jean-d'Angély and is part of the canton Matha . The inhabitants are called Prignacais .

Prignac is located about 83 kilometers east-southeast of La Rochelle in the Saintonge . Prignac is surrounded by the neighboring communities Courcerac in the north and west, Matha in the north and northeast, Thors in the east and Mons in the south.
