Aumagne is a French municipality with 707 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement Saint-Jean-d'Angély and the canton of Chaniers (until 2015: canton of Saint-Hilaire-de-Villefranche ). The inhabitants are called Aumagnais .

Aumagne is about 66 kilometers southeast of La Rochelle . Aumagne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Varaize in the north, La Brousse in the northeast, Blanzac-lès-Matha in the east, Aujac in the south, Authon-Ébéon in the south and southwest and Sainte-Même in the west.
