Cressé is a French municipality with 240 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement Saint-Jean-d'Angély and is part of the canton Matha . The inhabitants are called Cressois .

geography

Cressé is located about 70 kilometers east-southeast of La Rochelle in the Saintonge . Cressé is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Seigné in the north, Fontaine-Chalendray in the north and northeast, Bazauges in the east, Beauvais-sur-Matha in the south and east, Gourvillette in the south, Les Touches-de-Périgny in the west and Le Gicq in the north-west.
