Shelf is a French commune with 1,347 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Jean-d'Angély and the canton of Saint-Jean-d'Angély (until 2015: canton of Saint-Savinien ). The inhabitants are called Borniquais .

geography

Bords is about 40 kilometers southeast of La Rochelle . The Charente limits the municipality to the south and west. Bords is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Champdolent in the north, Saint-Savinien in the east, Geay in the south and south-east, Romegoux in the south, La Vallée in the west and south-west and Cabariot in the north-west.
