Landes is a French municipality with 611 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Saint-Jean-d'Angély and is part of the canton of Saint-Jean-d'Angély . The inhabitants are called Landais .

geography

Landes is about 55 kilometers east-southeast of La Rochelle in the Saintonge . Landes is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Courant in the north, Essouvert in the east, La Vergne in the south and south-east, Torxé in the south and south-west, Chantemerle-sur-la-Soie in the south-west, Saint-Loup in the west and Nachamps in the north-west.
