Torxé is a French municipality with 202 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement Saint-Jean-d'Angély and is part of the canton Saint-Jean-d'Angély (until 2015: canton Tonnay-Boutonne ). The inhabitants are called Torxéens .

geography

Torxé is about 50 kilometers east-southeast of La Rochelle . Torxé is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Puyrolland and Nachamps in the north, Landes in the east, Chantemerle-sur-le-Soie in the south and Tonnay-Boutonne in the west.
