Haimps is a French municipality with 464 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement Saint-Jean-d'Angély and is part of the canton Matha . The inhabitants are called Haimpsois .

geography

Haimps is about 85 kilometers east-southeast of La Rochelle in the Saintonge . Haimps is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Les Touches-de-Périgny in the north, Gourvillette in the northeast, Massac in the east, Siecq in the east and southeast, Louzignac in the south and southeast, Sonnac in the south and Matha in the west.
