Saint-Séverin-sur-Boutonne is a French commune with a population of 99 (as at 1st January 2017) in the Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement Saint-Jean-d'Angély and is part of the canton Matha (until 2015: canton Loulay ). The inhabitants are called Saint-Séverinois .

Saint-Séverin-sur-Boutonne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Plaine-d'Argenson in the north and north-west, Le Vert in the north and north-east, Dampierre-sur-Boutonne in the east and south-east, Coivert in the south and south-west and Villeneuve-la-Comtesse in the West.
