Le Vert is a French municipality with 128 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Niort and the canton of Mignon-et-Boutonne ( Brioux-sur-Boutonne until 2015 ).

Le Vert is about 27 kilometers south-southeast of Niort . Le Vert is surrounded by the neighboring communities Villiers-en-Bois in the north, Chizé in the east, Dampierre-sur-Boutonne in the south and southeast, Saint-Séverin-sur-Boutonne in the south and west and Boisserolles in the west.
