Granzay-Gript is a French municipality with 904 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Niort and the canton of Frontenay-Rohan-Rohan ( Beauvoir-sur-Niort until 2015 ). The inhabitants are called Granzéens-Griptois .

geography

Granzay-Gript is about twelve kilometers south-southwest of Niort . Granzay-Gript is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Symphorien in the north, Fors in the east and northeast, Marigny in the east and southeast, Beauvoir-sur-Niort in the south, La Foye-Monjault in the southwest, Vallans in the west and Frontenay-Rohan-Rohan in the north-west.

The A10 autoroute runs along the eastern edge of the municipality .

On January 1, 1973, Granzay and Gript merged to form today's municipality.
