Coulonges-sur-l'Autize is a French commune with a population of 2,350 (as at 1st January 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Niort and in the canton of Autize-Égray (until 2015: canton of Coulonges-sur-l'Autize ). The inhabitants are called Coulongeois .

Coulonges-sur-l'Autize is about 72 kilometers west-southwest of Poitiers and about 20 kilometers northwest of Niort . The river Autise (also: Autize ) forms the southern boundary of the municipality. Coulonges-sur-l'Autize is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Maixent-de-Beugné in the north, Ardin in the east, Saint-Pompain in the south and Saint-Hilaire-des-Loges in the west.
The former route nationale 744 (today's D744) runs through the municipality .
