The Route nationale 744 , or N 744 or RN 744 for short , was a French national road that ran in two sections from 1933 to 1973 between Mauléon and Niort . Their total length was 76 kilometers.

Course of the road

The first section led from the village of Mauléon via Cerizay and Moncoutant to a junction with the former national road 149 Bis (today Department road 949 B ) and was a total of 40 kilometers long.

From the village of L'Absie , the second section led via Coulonges-sur-l'Autize to the city of Niort , where the national road had its former end. The second section was 36 kilometers long.
