Saint-Hilaire-des-Loges is a French commune in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the arrondissement of Fontenay-le-Comte and the canton of Fontenay-le-Comte (until 2015: canton of Saint-Hilaire-des-Loges ). It has 1,950 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) called Saint-Hilarois .

Saint-Hilaire-des-Loges is located between the Autise rivers in the south and the Vendée in the north.
Saint-Hilaire-des-Loges is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Foussais-Payré in the north, Faymoreau and Saint-Maixent-de-Beugné in the northeast, Colonges-sur-l'Autise in the east, Saint-Pompain in the southeast, Rives-d ' Autise with Nieul-sur-l'Autise in the south and Xanton-Chassenon in the west and south-west.
The former route nationale 745 (today's D745) runs through the municipality .
history
The municipality was created in 1828 from the merger of the two municipalities of Saint-Étienne-des-Loges and Saint-Hilaire-sur-l'Autise .
