Liez is a French municipality with 278 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Vendée , in the Région Pays de la Loire . Saint-Sigismond belongs to the arrondissement Fontenay-le-Comte and the canton Fontenay-le-Comte (until 2015: canton Maillezais ).
location
Liez is located about 18 kilometers west of Niort in the Marais Poitevin and the Venise Verte . Liez is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Pierre-le-Vieux in the north and north-west, Bouillé-Courdault in the north and east, Benet in the east, Saint-Sigismond in the south and Maillezais in the west.
