Cheffois is a French commune with 977 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Vendée department in the Pays de la Loire region ; it belongs to the arrondissement of Fontenay-le-Comte and the canton of La Châtaigneraie . The inhabitants are called chiefs .
geography
Cheffois is about 48 kilometers east of La Roche-sur-Yon . Cheffois is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Réaumur in the north and north-west, Saint-Pierre-du-Chemin in the north-east, La Tardière in the east, Saint-Maurice-le-Girard in the south and Mouilleron-en-Pareds in the west and south-west.
The former route nationale 752 (today's D752) runs through the municipality .
