Until the nationwide reorganization of the cantons in March 2015, the canton of La Châtaigneraie consisted of the 19 municipalities of Antigny , Bazoges-en-Pareds , Breuil-Barret , Cezais , Cheffois , La Chapelle-aux-Lys , La Châtaigneraie , La Tardière , Loge-Fougereuse , Marillet , Menomblet , Mouilleron-Saint-Germain , Saint-Hilaire-de-Voust , Saint-Maurice-des-Noues , Saint-Maurice-le-Girard , Saint-Pierre-du-Chemin , Saint-Sulpice-en-Pareds , Thouarsais-Bouildroux and Vouvant . Its layout corresponded to an area of ​​336.79 km ² . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 8505.
