L'Hermenault is a French municipality with 913 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the canton of La Châtaigneraie in the arrondissement of Fontenay-le-Comte . Until 2015 it was the main town (chief lieu) of the canton L'Hermenault . It is bordered by Saint-Valérien to the north-west, Saint-Martin-des-Fontaines to the north, Marsais-Sainte-Radégonde to the north-east, Sérigné to the south-east, Petosse to the south and Pouillé to the south-west .
