Le Mazeau is a French municipality with 452 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Vendée , in the Région Pays de la Loire . Saint-Sigismond belongs to the arrondissement Fontenay-le-Comte and the canton Fontenay-le-Comte (until 2015: canton Maillezais ). The inhabitants are called Mazéens .
location
Le Mazeau is located about 17 kilometers west of Niort in the Marais Poitevin and the Venise Verte . The Sèvre Niortaise limits the municipality to the south. Le Mazeau is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Benet in the north and east, Le Vanneau-Irleau in the south and south-east, Arçais in the south and Saint-Sigismond in the west and north-west.
