Rives-d'Autise is a French municipality with 2118 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the Arrondissement Fontenay-le-Comte and the Canton of Fontenay-le-Comte .
It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2019 through the amalgamation of the previous municipalities of Nieul-sur-l'Autise and Oulmes , which have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in Nieul-sur-l'Autise.

geography
The municipality is located around 18 kilometers northwest of Niort in the Marais Poitevin Regional Nature Park . The Autise river runs along the north-western municipal boundary and the A83 motorway runs along the southern boundary . Neighboring municipalities are: Saint-Hilaire-des-Loges in the north, Saint-Pompain in the northeast, Benet in the southeast, Bouillé-Courdault in the south, Saint-Pierre-le-Vieux in the southwest and Xanton-Chassenon in the northwest.
