La Caillère-Saint-Hilaire is a French commune with 1,111 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the arrondissement of Fontenay-le-Comte and the canton of La Châtaigneraie (until 2015: canton of Sainte-Hermine ). The inhabitants are called Caillerots .

La Caillère-Saint-Hilaire is located about 37 kilometers east-southeast of La Roche-sur-Yon . La Caillère-Saint-Hilaire is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Jaudonnière in the north and west, Bazoges-en-Pareds in the north and east, Thouarsais-Bouildroux in the east and south-east, Saint-Laurent-de-la-Salle in the south and Saint- Martin-Lars-en-Sainte-Hermine in the south and south-west.
history
In 1974 the municipalities of La Caillère and Saint-Hilaire-du-Bois were merged to form today's municipality.
