Saint-Sigismond is about 18 kilometers west of Niort in the Marais Poitevin and the Venise Verte . Saint-Sigismond is surrounded by the neighboring communities Maillezais in the north and north-west, Liez in the north, Benet in the east and north-east, Le Mazeau in the east, Arçais in the south and south-east and Damvix in the west and south-west.
