Montournais is a French village with 1,663 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the arrondissement Fontenay-le-Comte and the canton Les Herbiers (until 2015: canton Pouzauges ).

geography

Montournais is about 50 kilometers east of La Roche-sur-Yon . The Lay forms the southern municipal boundary. Montournais is surrounded by the Pouzauges in the north and northwest, Saint-Mesmin in the north, Saint-André-sur-Sèvre in the east and northeast, Menomblet in the east, Réaumur in the south and southwest and La Meilleraie-Tillay in the west.
