L'Aiguillon-sur-Mer is a western French municipality with 2081 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the arrondissement of Fontenay-le-Comte and the canton of Mareuil-sur-Lay-Dissais (until 2015: canton of Luçon ). The inhabitants are called Aiguillonnais .

L'Aiguillon-sur-Mer is located on the Atlantic coast in the Vendée countryside . Here the river Lay flows into the Atlantic Ocean. L'Aiguillon-sur-Mer is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Grues in the north and north-west, Saint-Michel-en-l'Herm in the east and La Faute-sur-Mer in the west.
