Le Boupère is a French village with 3,150 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the Arrondissement Fontenay-le-Comte and the Canton of Chantonnay . The inhabitants are called bouperien .
geography
The river Lay limits the municipality to the south. Le Boupère is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Paul-en-Pareds in the north and north-west, Saint-Michel-Mont-Mercure in the north and north-east, La Flocellière in the north-east, Pouzauges in the east, La Meilleraie-Tillay in the south and south-east, and Monsireigne in the south, Saint-Prouant in the south-west, Rochetrejoux in the west and Mouchamps in the west and north-west.
