Tallud-Sainte-Gemme is about 41 kilometers east of La Roche-sur-Yon . The Maine River borders the community to the north. Tallud-Sainte-Gemme is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Chavagnes-les-Redoux in the north and north-west, La Meilleraie-Tillay in the north, Réaumur in the north-east, Saint-Germain-l'Aiguiller in the east, Mouilleron-en-Pareds in the south-east and Bazoges -en-pareds to the south and west.
