Saint-Aubin-la-Plaine is a French commune with a population of 535 (as at 1st January 2017) in Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Fontenay-le-Comte and the canton of La Châtaigneraie (until 2015: canton of Sainte-Hermine ). The inhabitants are called Saint-Aubinois .

Saint-Aubin-la-Plaine is located about 31 kilometers east-southeast of La Roche-sur-Yon . Saint-Aubin-la-Plaine is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Sainte-Hermine in the north, Saint-Étienne-de-Brillouet in the east and northeast, Nalliers in the south and east, Sainte-Gemme-la-Plaine in the west and southwest and Saint- Jean-de-Beugné to the west and north-west.
