La Meilleraie-Tillay is a French village with 1,515 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the arrondissement Fontenay-le-Comte and the canton Les Herbiers (until 2015: canton Pouzauges ). The inhabitants are called Melletois .
geography
La Meilleraie-Tillay is located about 40 kilometers east-northeast of La Roche-sur-Yon am Lay , which cuts the municipality once diametrically. La Meilleraie-Tillay is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Le Boupère in the north and north-west, Pouzauges in the north, Montournais in the east and south-east, Réaumur in the south and south-east, Tallud-Sainte-Gemme in the south, Chavagnes-les-Redoux in the south-west and Monsireigne in the West.

In 1827 the previously independent municipalities of La Meilleraie and Tillay were merged.
