Faymoreau is a French commune in the department of Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire . It belongs to the arrondissement of Fontenay-le-Comte and the canton of Fontenay-le-Comte (until 2015: canton of Saint-Hilaire-des-Loges ). It has 202 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017).

Faymoreau lies to the south of the Vendée River .
Faymoreau is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Marillet in the north, Le Busseau in the east and northeast, Saint-Laurs in the east and southeast, Saint-Maixent-de-Beugné in the south, Saint-Hilaire-des-Loges in the southwest, Foussais-Payré in the west and south-west and Puy-de-Serre in the north-west.
history
From 1775, from 1828 through a colliery until 1958, coal mining was operated in the community. From 1827 to 1883 the present municipality was part of the Faymoreau-Puy-de-Serre commune .
