The miners' chapel in Faymoreau , a commune in the Vendée department in the Pays de la Loire region , was consecrated on December 4, 1876, the name day of St. Barbara of Nicomedia , venerated by the miners as their patron saint.

The chapel on the Allée de la Verrerie was built according to plans by the architect Laromiguiere on behalf of the mine owner to commemorate her deceased husband. The parish church of St-Louis was only two kilometers from the chapel.

The hall building , which was renovated in the 1990s, has 18 stained glass windows depicting the life of the miners. The windows were made to designs by the painter Carmelo Zagari, born in Firminy in 1957 . After the renovation, the lead glass windows were installed.

After the mines closed in 1958, the chapel remained privately owned. Later it became the property of the diocese and in 1998 it was bought by the parish of Faymoreau.

Concerts and exhibitions are held in the chapel, which is still used for worship.
