De Luxe Records (later DeLuxe Records ) was an American record label founded in 1944 by the brothers David and Jules Braun in Linden, New Jersey . The label had some success in the United States in the 1940s and 1950s with jazz and rhythm & blues records. In 1947, Syd Nathan, founder and owner of King Records, acquired a majority stake in De Luxe. In 1949 Nathan relocated the label's headquarters to Cincinnati in 1949 and in 1951 acquired the remaining shares of the Braun brothers.

The label released recordings by Annie Laurie The Manhattans and Donnie Elbert , with whom DeLuxe was successful in the R&B charts from the mid-1950s to the early 1970s. In 1947 Dave Bartholomew's first record was released on De Luxe, She's Got Great Big Eyes . The label has also released records by Dud Bascomb , Roy Brown , Erskine Butterfield , King Curtis , Billy Eckstine and His Orchestra , Benny Carter , Papa Celestin , Cousin Joe , Paul Gayten , Willis Jackson , Plas Johnson , Smiley Lewis , Roy Milton , Lee Richardson , Sylvia Syms and Earl Warren .
