La Couture is located about 20 kilometers southeast of La Roche-sur-Yon on the Lay , which flows on the south and east edges of the municipality. La Couture is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Mareuil-sur-Lay-Dissais in the north and east, Péault in the southeast, La Bretonnière-la-Claye in the south and Rosnay in the west.
