Chasnais is located about 34 kilometers north-northwest of La Rochelle in the Vendée countryside . Chasnais is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Les Magnils-Reigniers in the north and east, Triaize in the south and south-east, Saint-Denis-du-Payré in the south-west, Lairoux in the west and La Bretonnière-la-Claye in the north-west.
