Thiré is a commune of 570 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Fontenay-le-Comte and the canton of La Châtaigneraie (until 2015: canton of Sainte-Hermine ). The inhabitants are called Thiréens .

Thiré is about 33 kilometers east-southeast of La Roche-sur-Yon . Thiré is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Juire-Champgillon in the north, La Chapelle-Thémer in the northeast, Saint-Valérien in the east, Saint-Étienne-de-Brillouet in the south and Sainte-Hermine in the west.
