Saint-Denis-du-Payré is located about 29 kilometers north-north-west of La Rochelle in the Vendée countryside . Saint-Denis-du-Payré is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Lairoux in the north, Chasnais in the northeast, Triaize in the east, Saint-Michel-en-l'Herm in the south, Grues in the west and southwest and Saint-Benoist-sur-Mer in the Northwest.
