Pissotte is a French village with 1,143 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in Vendée in the region of Pays de la Loire ; it is part of the arrondissement Fontenay-le-Comte and the canton of Fontenay-le-Comte . The inhabitants are called Pissottais .
geography
Pissotte is located about 32 kilometers northwest of Niort and around 50 kilometers east-southeast of La Roche-sur-Yon in the wine region Fiefs Vendéens . The Vendée limits the commune to the east. Pissotte is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Bourneau in the north, Mervent in the east and northeast, L'Orbrie in the east, Fontenay-le-Comte in the south, Longèves in the southwest and Sérigné in the west.
