Le Busseau is a French municipality with 732 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ). The municipality is located in the Arrondissement of Niort and in the canton of Autize-Égray (until 2015: canton of Coulonges-sur-l'Autize ).

Le Busseau is about 71 kilometers west of Poitiers and about 30 kilometers north-northwest of Niort . Le Busseau is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Paul-en-Gâtine in the north, Scillé in the east and northeast, La Chapelle-Thireuil in the east and southeast, Saint-Laurs in the south, Faymoreau in the southwest, Marillet and Saint-Hilaire-de- Voust in the west and La Chapelle-aux-Lys in the northwest.

The former route nationale 744 (today's D744) runs through the municipality .
