Aigondigné is a French commune with 4,747 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Deux-Sèvres in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the Arrondissement of Niort and the canton of Celles-sur-Belle .

It was created as Commune nouvelle with effect from January 1, 2019 through the amalgamation of the previous Commune nouvelle Mougon-Thorigné with the former municipalities of Aigonnay and Sainte-Blandine , which have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The Communes déléguées Mougon and Thorigné of the dissolved municipality Mougon-Thorigné also retain this status in the new municipality. The administrative headquarters are located in Mougon.

geography

The community is located around 15 kilometers east of Niort . It is crossed by the Lambon river. Neighboring municipalities are: Sainte-Néomaye and Romans in the north, Prailles in the northeast, Beaussais-Vitré in the east, Celles-sur-Belle in the southeast, Saint-Médard in the south, Brûlain in the southwest, Prahecq in the west, and Vouillé and Fressines in the northwest.
